This tour is a thorough exploration of the Mekong delta with very interesting activities, beautiful places, and authentic daily life. 

Itinerary: 

Day 1: HCMC – Cai Thia – Vinh Long city – Can Tho city (Lunch)

8:00 start from Saigon

10:30 arrive in Cai Thia, get on a boat to cross the river in a few minutes only. It’s a simple local boat station. There is a WC on the boat for the people to use.

10:40 When arrival on the other side of the river, get off the boat, view of a local Cai Thia church.

Then walk about 15 minutes, view of My Luong temple dated back to the 19^th century, and some local brick kilns.

11:00 Get back on the boat to cross another river for a few minutes.

11:05 When arrival on the other side of the river, get off the boat, visit a local family of making rice paper, taste some sweet rice paper cake. This visit can take about 15 – 30 minutes.

11:30 Then start a nice biking tour for 30 minutes. Photo stops are available.

For those who do not want to bike, they can go by motorbike at extra cost

12:00 Arrive at another family making “banh tieu”, seeing how it is made, tasting the nice cake with green tea.

12:30 Continue the bike for a short ride.

12:40 Get back on the boat at Hoa Loc market and enjoy lunch on the boat  while cruising to across the Mighty Mekong River, small rivers, along fruit orchards to Hoa Ninh island.

14:30 Enjoy a sampan ride through Luc Cu canals and walk along fruit orchards to Ut Trinh garden where you will taste some fruits, listen to traditional music, walk around the garden.

15:30 Get back on the boat and cruise to Vinh Long.

16:00 get off the boat at Vinh Long market, walk through the market to see them selling vegetables, fish, frogs, chickens, ducks, snakes, etc.

16:30 Transfer to Can Tho 

18:00 Check-in a hotel

Day 2: Can Tho city – Cai Rang floating market – Long Xuyen –Tra Su swamp – Chau Doc (Breakfast)

8:00 Check out and take a boat ride to visit the Cai Rang floating market. Visit a rice noodle workshop.

10:00 Visit the vegetable An Binh market

10:30 transfer to Long Xuyen

Have lunch at a local restaurant in Long Xuyen with local specialty: crocodile meat (not included)

After lunch, continue by small country roads to visit Tra Su swamp. Enjoy the tours by motor boat, rowing boat, on foot. See the birds (many birds can be spotted late in the afternoon, before dark).

18:00 Transfer to Chau Doc, check in the beautiful Sam Mountain Lodge. Have some relaxation

Day 3: Chau Doc – Sa Dec – HCMC (Breakfast)

8:00 Check out and take a boat ride along the Vinh Te canal to Chau Doc.

Visit a floating house and floating village in Chau Doc to learn how local people live.

10:00 Transfer to Sa Dec city

12:00 Visit the interesting Sa Dec market and the colorful old house of Huynh Thuy Le which was mentioned in the famous novel “L’Amant” (the Lover) by Marguerite Duras.

15:00 Transfer back to HCMC

18:00 Drop off at the hotel  

End of tour.
