Water Festival in Cambodia, 5 days
Day 1: Phnom Penh
Arrive Phnom Penh in the morning, meet with our guide for transfer to check in at hotel (official time for check-in: 2:00pm). Afternoon half-day visit Toul Sleng Museum and Russian Market then transfer to hotel for relax. Overnight in Phnom Penh. From the hotel, watch the first activities of the water festival called “Chactomok River” where boat teams from all over the country come for caring. Besides the regatt (Oum Touk) , the water festival also includes three other ceremonies: Illuminated float (Loy Pratip),Moon salutation (Sampeas Preah Khe) and the eating of pestle new special rice with banana or coconut juice (Ork Ambok).

These three ceremonies celebrate at night time around seven o’clock is the best time for spectacular on the river was lit by jazzy illuminated boats, which floated slowly, and smoothly on the water's surface. Each of them was equipped with thousands of flashy neon lights arranged in different colorful, fancy patterns representing state institutions, ministries and services. After a little time fireworks and multi color were lit to entertain people. Some of people made loud noises. They burst into different shapes and colors in the sky under the clapped and cheered with joy each time at the sight of the fireworks.
Day 2: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap (B)
This is the Second day of Water Festival in Phnom Penh.
Morning after breakfast visit Silver Pagoda on the same ground of Royal Palace, River Front Park and National Museum of Khmer Arts, and renowned Wat Phnom Hill and Independence Monument. Afternoon back to hotel for relaxes and walks out a few minutes with our guide toward to platform long ways the river for visit the spectacular of Boat Racing on the river and a history description by our guide
Day 3: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap (B)
This is the Third day and the final day of Water Festival in Phnom Penh – Cambodia that always celebrates on confluent we call “Chactomok River”. There, the race winners will be rewarded a lot of good such as: drink, money, clothes, rice, cigarettes and the commission of the boat racing day must seek donations in order to provide this prize for participants. |
Then flight to Siem Reap, hotel check-in. Afternoon tour to Small Circuit including Prasat Kravan (Cardamon sanctuary), Banteay Kdei, Srah Srang (Royal Bath), Ta Prohm (Jungle Temple), Takeo, Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda.
Day 4: Siem Reap (B-D)
Early morning, view sunrise at Angkor Wat. Transfer to hotel for breakfast. The same morning, tour to South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. Afternoon visit the World Seventh Wonder of Angkor Wat and view sunset at Phnom Bakheng Hill.
Farwell dinner at local restaurant with Khmer Traditional Dance Show. |
Day 5: Siem Reap (B)
Morning boat trip on Great Lake Tonle Sap Lake and floating village and visit Les Artisans d’Angkor - Chantiers Ecole where visitors can observe students learning traditional carving and finishing techniques. Afternoon visit Siem Reap Market and shopping until transfer to the airport for flight home.
End of Service.
